Planing your visit to HOT BIZ IN THE CITY – Stuff you need to know!

3 Apr

The area around Railroak Park is getting HUGE improvements and we can’t wait to see them all come to fruition, but there is a small price to pay for progress.  It may be a little different getting into the Park this weekend (1st Avcnue South is closed), so here is what we suggest:  1.  Sundays are great since very few businesses are open.  You should be able to find plenty of metered parking (free on weekends!) on the street along 18th Street or 2nd Avenue, or any of the other streets nearby. 2.  Try Lot D (Birmingham Parking Authority) for just $2 – pay the machine with quarters or bills.  It’s right next to the 18th street entrance to the park for easy access.

Hot Biz in the City Pop Up Bazaar is happening under the 17th street pavilions and on the plaza.  You can’t miss it!  Just look for the fabulous items for sale and listen for the  great music playing.

There is MUCH going on all day and here is a schedule just for you –

12pm – Event begins – shop 30 local vendors from throughout the metro region! (Pavilion B and Plaza)

12pm – Jim N Nick’s will serve up some scrumptious BBQ and ice tea until 6pm – perfect meal for a beautiful day in the park!

1:15pm – Music by Stone Notes (with former JA Be Entrepreneurial Scholarship recipient, Stephen Hall)

1:30 – 4pm – 2013 Be Entrepreneurial Business Plan Challenge Student Finalist Showcase (Pavilion A)

2pm -4pm – Hoop Jam by Hoop for Fitness (plaza, green)

5pm – Yoga Class for teens by Villager Yoga (plaza, green)

6pm – Event ends

**Visit the Yelp Information booth at any time during the event if you have questions or need help finding anything.
